We catch-up with Cowry’s newest member of staff – Doug Chalk

October 23, 2020

Doug, welcome! Tell us a little about yourself and your new role.

Thanks! I have recently joined Cowry as a Business Central consultant, so my role is to work with clients through implementations of BC and help them to get the most out of the product.

What were you doing before you joined Cowry Solutions?

Before joining Cowry I spent nearly six years at another Microsoft Partner, working as a consultant on many medium and large NAV projects. These were in industries ranging from charity shops to builders’ merchants, to a football club. Across all these industries, the focus of the projects was retail, which is where the bulk of my experience has come from.

Why did you choose to join Cowry?

Joining Cowry presented a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing, ambitious company, and a chance to be involved in more than just consulting. In my previous role, consultants tended to focus on specific areas, as it was a large organisation. At Cowry, I will have the opportunity, to not only work with multiple areas within Business Central, but to get involved with other elements of projects.

What are you looking forward to?

There are many things that I am looking forward to at Cowry. Every project is different and every business has different needs. I always enjoy working with different businesses and getting insights of each industry.

However, the aspect I most look forward to in my job is seeing projects successfully go live. It is always a great feeling to see that all the hard work has paid off, and to see businesses benefitting from Business Central.

Tell us a little about what you like to do away from work.

Sport takes up a lot of my time in one way or another. I follow football, tennis and cricket, amongst others and play a lot of snooker and golf (not with much success!). I also love to travel as much as possible, although 2020 hasn’t exactly been great for travelling!
